I’ve written fiction and non-fiction short stories, novellas, and other works under my own name as well as a number of pseudonyms fitting for the genre.
Below is the complete list of the names I’ve written (and in some cases, continue to write) under.
Alexander Nachaj
My birth name with my unpronounceable surname. This is the name I currently use for academic works, non-fiction, op-eds, and my more literary fiction. Notable publications include my monograph Prime Time Bishop released through MQUP in 2025, as well as several pieces such as The Rollercoaster that appeared in literary magazines like Litro.
Much of my older fiction was also published as Alexander Nachaj, including horror and crime stories, before I began demarcating my work with my various pen names.

“I feel fine, comfortable even, maybe even a little excited, but then something changes. A feeling. I look around and suddenly my parents are gone, and so are the people in the rows around and behind me. The roller coaster is still moving, still climbing, but I’m the only passenger.” – Excerpt from The Roller Coaster.
Michael Arkady
Michael Arkady is the name I’ve begun using for some of my harder, speculative leaning fiction. It includes the republished version of my cyberpunk crime novella Heist as well as other stories in the works or older ones that would fit better under this moniker.

“The horizon glowed silver-chrome. Barker stood twenty clicks outside the New Verdun market territory, deep into the dustlands where the twisted blue underbelly of the Skyway streaked through the clouds above.” – Excerpt from Heist
JM Connors
JM Connors is my pen name largely devoted to horror and crime fiction, as well as some of my more literary pieces that might fall into or near either genre. Notable releases include This Small Matter About Some Diamonds in Summer Bludgeon and The Magpie in Under the Stairs.

“Things began disappearing shortly after Nick and Angela moved into her mother’s old house. First, it was a handful of hairpins she kept in a basket on the armoire. Next, it was all the toothpicks from the jar in the kitchen. It wasn’t until the pizza cutter vanished an hour after it was used that Angela knew something strange was going on.” – Excerpt from The Magpie
Alec Anderson
My alter ego for surreal, short fiction thus far, as well as my experiments in self-publishing and formatting. Notable releases include the micro-fiction / anti-Zen koan-inspired I Press the Button for Hope but Nothing Happens.
