Review: Chapterhouse Dune by Frank Herbert

Reading Chapterhouse: Dune was an endurance test; I honestly wanted to break up with myself after how much pain it caused me. After recently being reminded how much I hated reading this book, I decided I needed to write a review to warn others.

Chapterhouse: Dune (Dune Chronicles, #6)Chapterhouse: Dune by Frank Herbert

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

The poster child for how a once great series can slide down into the pit of meaninglessly masturbatory self-importance bordering on fan fiction levels of pretentiousness. Were it not for some intelligent and interesting twists in the final act, this book would have gone down in my memory as being more of a parody of everything that made the original Dune great, rather than a serious conclusion to the story.
